DANCE PIECE FROM ANDRESSA MIYAZATO AND ALEKSANDER KAPLUN

The spider god Anansi is one of the most important figures in the West African culture, somewhere between man, animal and deity this myth is deeply rooted in the identity of different African, Caribbean and Asian populations. This dance piece tells of fairytale adventures and silent longings surrounding a feminine, timeless version of Anansis.

Aleksander Kaplun. Author and stage design

Born in Moscow, Russia. At the age of fifteen (soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union) moved to the United States. Native speaker in both Russian and English languages. Lived nearly ten years in Houston, Texas, studying arts with private tutors and working as an assistant set designer at Main Street Youth Theater. From 2001 worked in the area of  neurological diagnostics, as a polysomnographic technologist, first in Houston and Dallas, Texas, and of 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2008 moved to Linz Austria to attend Kunst Universitat Linz(graduated 2014). During the studies had one personal exhibition, took part in many group exhibitions, curated and organized different art events and performances. Specialization in painting and graphics. Medias include film, installation, performance, illustration, sculpture and written word.

Andressa Miyazato. Staging and Choreography

Brazilian dancer Andressa Miyazato began her career under the direction of Juan Jose Soares of Sao Jose do Rio Preto. During her engagement at Ballet de Rio Preto she worked with choreographers such as Edinaldo Nascimento and Mario Nascimento. Subsequently, she was from 2001 to 2007 a member of the Cisne Negro Dance Company in Sao Paolo. Here she danced in choreographies by Patrick Delcroix, Itzik Galili, Rui Moreira, Denise Namura and Michael Bugdahn, Dany Bittencourt, Gigi Caciuleanu, Mark Baldwin, Vasco Wellencamp and Antonio Gomes. She toured Argentina, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, USA, South Africa and Germany. From the season 2007/2008 she was engaged in the dance theater ensemble of the Staatstheater Darmstadt (direction Mei Hong Lin), where she was among others. in Jochen Ulrich’s Renaissance drama Lorenzaccio the Marquesa Cibo embodied. Here she was also a mother of the past in the production nominated for the German theater award “Der Faust” Die Brautschminkerin (choreography: Mei Hong Lin) as well as Ulrike Meinhof and young Sylvia Plath in Johann Kresnik’s choreography Ulrike Meinhof. Guest engagements led them u.a. to Austria to the Ballett Linz. In 2013 Andressa Miyazato was nominated in the Yearbook Dance as Dancer of the Year, in September 2017 Marieluise Jeitschko nominated her again on the internet platform tanznetz.de in the category Dancer of the Year. Since the season 2013/2014 Andressa Miyazato is a member of the dance company TANZLIN.Z at the Landestheater Linz.

NÚRIA GIMÉNEZ VILLARROYA

Born in Catalonia, Núria Giménez Villarroya studied classical ballet and contemporary dance with Roser Muñoz, Joan Boix and others. From 2004 to 2006 she was a student at the Jove Ballet de Catalunya and from 2005 to 2006 she was engaged at the Ballet de Catalunya under the direction of Marta Bustamente. She then danced in the ballet company at the Center de Dansa de Catalunya in Barcelona. From 2006 to 2008 she was part of the Ensemble Compagnie David Campos and at the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, followed by a commitment from 2008 to 2011 in the Basque Dantzaz Konpainia in San Sebastián, with choreographers such as Itzik Galili, Hilde Koch, Jone San Martin, Lukas Timulak and others In 2011 she came to Germany and first danced in the Donlon Dance Company at Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken before moving to the dance theater of the Staatstheater Darmstadt with the 2012/2013 season. For the season 2013/2014 she followed Mei Hong Lin to the Landestheater Linz, where she returned after a one-year break with the season 2018/2019.

HODEI IRIARTE KAPEROTXIPI

The Spanish dancer Hodei Iriarte Kaperotxipi, born in 1993, studied classical ballet at the Royal Conservatory and dance at the Mariemma Conservatory in Madrid (2009-2013). Already during his training he danced with the Corella Ballet Castilla-Leon as part of the ensemble for the production Swan Lake. During the season 2012/2013 he joined the Baltic Dance Theater in Poland, where he worked for two years. In early 2014, he was appointed solo dancer and worked with choreographers such as Izadora Weiss, Jiri Kylian, Patrick Delcroix or Emil Wesolowski. In January 2015, he joined the Prague Chamber Ballet, where he worked with, among others, Mario Radacovsky, Pavel Smok and Aleksandra Dziurosz. Since the 2015/2016 season, he has complemented the dance ensemble at the Landestheater Linz under the direction of Mei Hong Lin.

TURA GÓMEZ COLL

Tura Gómez Coll was born in Barcelona, Spain. She began her dance education at the Center de Dansa Laura Esteve of her hometown and continued her at the Institut del Teatre. She then graduated from Codarts Rotterdam. In 2009 she was part of the Donlon Dance Company in Saarbrücken and from 2009-2010 she was engaged by André Gingras, the company Meekers Rotterdam. In 2011, Tura Gómez Coll joined the company Gelabert Azzopardi in Barcelona and left at the end of 2012. In January 2013, she collaborated with Cie Portes Sud on a solo project and became a member of the Baltic Dance Theater in March of the same year. She danced in choreographies by Izadora Weiss (Le sacre du printemps, Windows, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Death and the Girl, Fun, Light, Body master and The Tempest), Patrick Delcroix (Clash) and Jiří Kylián (Six Dances, Falling Angels) , Since the season 2016/2017 Tura Gómez Coll is a member of the company TANZLIN.Z at the Landestheater Linz.

URKO FERNANDEZ MARZANA

Urko Fernandez Marzana was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, where he attended the gymnastics club for seven years. Later he took courses in ballet, hip-hop and jazz dance. After graduating in 2013, he moved to Madrid to study contemporary dance and jazz at the Danza 180º. There he expanded his skills, among others. in classes with choreographers Fernando Lázaro, Iker Karrera, Nicolas Rambaud, Amaya Galeote and Victoria P. Miranda. In 2017 he graduated. In 2016, he joined the Larumbe Dance Company in Madrid. With Whales, Stories of giants he toured China and South Korea. Urko Fernandez Marzana also worked in theaters, cabarets and television productions. Since the beginning of the season 2017/2018 he is a member of the company TANZLIN.Z at the Landestheater Linz.

LORENZO RUTA

The Italian Lorenzo Ruta received his dance education in the fields of ballet, contemporary dance, contact improvisation and modern dance in his Sicilian homeland. His first engagement took him to Catania to the Scenario Pubblico and the Compagnia Zappalà Danz under the artistic direction of Roberto Zappalà. In the following years he danced for the young Swiss company Cinevox Junior Company (Diva and Carmen) in choreographies of Franz Brodmann, Jacqueline Beck, Enrico Musmeci, Félix Dumeril, Olaf Schmidt, Martina Langmann, Tyna Beyerler, Azusa Nishimura and Ihsan Rustem. In the season 2016/2017 he moved to the Concert and Theater St. Gallen under the direction of Beate Vollack. Here he danced in productions such as Dangerous Liaisons, Orfeo ed Euridice, It Is What and Kranzrede with choreographers such as Matjash Mrozewski, Felix Landerer, Helge Letonja and Jörg Weinöhl. Further stations were the Theater Ulm (Ballet Director Roberto Scafati) and the Theater Pforzheim (Ballet Director Guido Markowitz). Since February 2018 Lorenzo Ruta is a member of the dance company TANZLIN.Z at the Landestheater Linz.
